For regulatory reasons, in Portugal legal services may only be rendered by law firms or sole practitioners regulated by the Portuguese Law Bar Association (Ordem dos Advogados), and there may be no multidisciplinary practices. Besides being prevented from rendering services “in association or integration”with non-lawyers, a law practice must comply with severe restrictions as regards marketing, advertising and client origination. As such, in cases where legal services are required, Horizon Consulting may refer prospective clients for legal services to authorized independent law practices with whom we have good references from, without, however, advertising such law practices.
